Davido and Wizkid are no strangers to what music fans refer to as ‘beef’, having been arch-rivals for years throughout their respective brilliant careers.
Their long-running conflict was revived with a diss video uploaded by Wizkid, which appeared to be directed at Davido. The Ojuelegba hitmaker uploaded a smuggled video of Davido in a vulnerable position, on his knees and pleading with a female acquaintance.
Wizkid, 33, shared the video, telling his followers that their requests for new music should be as impassioned as the person in the leaked film.
He added that mere fan requests would not persuade him to release new songs, but witnessing heartfelt pleadings similar to Davido’s might.
This post sparked a social media frenzy, eliciting strong emotions from the 30 Billion gang and Wizkid FC fan bases.
In reaction, Davido was outraged and responded against Wizkid with a series of provocative tweets on Monday night.
“That’s what I thought. Nothing to say! Exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of usd of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again. NEXT!!” Davido tweeted. In another tweet, which has since been deleted, he described Wizkid as an abuser.

In another tweet, which has since been deleted, he described Wizkid as an abuser. “Let’s pray for domestic violence victims…. a minute of silence” and he later added “woman beater“.
Going ballistic on Wizkid, he called a “Size 7 shoe” adding that “n*gga shop at Footlocker kids.”

Wizkid and Davido are two of Nigeria’s most prominent artists, with impressive commercial success, strong brand identities, global influence, and large fan bases.
Their rise to the mainstream music scene began in 2010 for Wizkid and 2011 for Davido, and they have since ruled the business for more than a decade.
Throughout this time, their relationship has fluctuated between friendship and rivalry, fueled by competition and differences between their respective teams and fan groups.
The dispute between Davido and Wizkid began about a decade ago, when the competition between the BET award winners became apparent.
In 2014, Wizkid tweeted, “I already killed NY!! London 26th Sept!! Manchester 28th sept!!! Big surprise!! Still proper shows!! proper venues!!! #fuckboysuckadick!!” – a comment made immediately following a Davido performance, which was interpreted as a swipe at OBO.

In 2017, Wizkid took direct aim at Davido for reportedly shading him on Snapchat after he teased his third album. In a viral tweet, he referred to Davido’s voice as ‘frog voice’.
“My people make una remember say Yankee passport no be baba blue, e no dey cure frog voice. 🐸🐸” he tweeted.

Since since, the two Nigerian icons have maintained a love-hate relationship. As a result, we predict a day is approaching when they will reconcile their current quarrel with an embrace before possibly reigniting it later.
